Scope and operator
These terms govern your use of OD Link Intercom client applications, the macOS Server App and hosted Intercom Cloud rooms, provided under the OD Link brand (“OD Link”, “we”, “us”). By downloading, activating or using these products, you agree to these terms. Server App licensing and Cloud subscriptions are separate arrangements.
Our product, billing and privacy contact is [email protected]. These terms apply specifically to the Intercom products described above.
Client apps and Server App license
Client applications are free. A paid Server App license grants a perpetual, non-exclusive right to use the server on one Mac, with four user accounts included. Additional purchased accounts expand that license, up to 500 total including the base accounts. Disabled accounts still count against capacity. The software and its intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners; a license is a right to use the software, not ownership of it.
The paid license removes Demo routing restrictions and periodic audio interruptions. Cloud hosting is not included. Moving the server license to another Mac requires deactivation of the old machine and activation with the same key on the new one. These self-service machine transfers are unlimited. Do not share a license in order to operate more machines than it covers.
If the old Mac is unusable before you can deactivate it, contact [email protected] to free the activation. This manual assistance is available up to three times over the life of your license.
You may change the registered owner email up to three times over the life of a key, with confirmation sent to the current registered email. Further email-owner changes require a new license. The email-owner change allowance and the support-assisted activation-reset allowance are separate. Self-service machine transfers do not use either allowance.
Internet access is required for license activation and periodic validation. The license is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. See internet requirements.
Keep your license key private. Except for the email-owner transfer procedure described above or where applicable law permits otherwise, you may not copy, resell, sublicense or redistribute the software or license key, or defeat its licensing. Moving your activation between your own Macs does not itself transfer the license to another person.
Updates and support
Each Server App license includes one year of support from activation: email help with setup and licensing at [email protected]. The license remains perpetual after that year, and updates to the version you own remain free. These are Server App license terms, not Cloud subscription terms.
Updates and new features are provided at our discretion. Installing an update to the version you own on the same Mac does not require buying another license or use an additional activation. The server’s license-validation and internet requirements remain applicable. A perpetual server license does not include lifetime general support, a license for every future major version or Cloud hosting. The lifetime allowances for email-owner changes and manual activation resets are stated separately above.
Demo evaluation
The Server App Demo allows four user accounts and routes the first four channels, groups and Audio Feeds. Audio is periodically interrupted as an evaluation limitation.
Demo is intended for evaluation, not live production. The client’s ten channel positions do not override the server’s Demo limits. Demo does not include a free hosted Cloud room.
Cloud subscriptions
A subscription provides one hosted room at the selected user capacity, up to 100 users per room. New subscriptions start at a capacity of 5 users; fewer people may use that subscription. Billing options are monthly, quarterly and yearly. The owner manages billing; participants use accounts created for the room rather than the owner’s billing login.
The amount, currency, billing period and applicable taxes must be shown before payment. A subscription renews unless renewal is cancelled. Cancelling renewal through the Cloud account keeps the room available until the end of the paid period. Deleting an account is a separate destructive action and can end the service immediately.
Capacity changes may create an additional charge. Review the amount displayed in Cloud before confirming a change; do not assume the new-room price table is a quote for a mid-period adjustment.
Payments and refunds
Purchases are processed by our reseller and Merchant of Record, Creem, which handles billing, sales tax/VAT, and appears as the seller on your receipt. Refunds for Server App licenses, additional user-account packs and Cloud subscriptions are handled in line with Creem’s refund policy and Buyer Terms.
After a Server App license purchase, the license key is delivered by email from [email protected].
For billing errors or refund requests, contact [email protected] with your order reference. Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer rights.
Production use and account security
Administrators control room accounts, passwords, groups, talk/listen permissions and routing. Protect credentials and configuration exports, share access only with intended participants, and obtain any permissions needed to transmit audio or other people’s personal information.
Test microphones, headsets, networks, permissions and recovery before a production. Availability and audio quality depend on the selected server, connectivity and devices. Maintain an appropriate backup communication method where an interruption would create a safety or operational risk. Do not use the service for unauthorized access, unlawful interception, interference with other rooms, or circumventing licensed capacity.
Disclaimer of warranty
To the extent permitted by law, OD Link Intercom is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Audio over any network depends on factors outside our control: your hardware, network, and configuration. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. No service-level or uptime guarantee is included unless separately agreed in writing.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OD Link is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost audio, lost profits or downtime arising from use of or inability to use the product. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the license or subscription purchase giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not restrict any liability or consumer protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Voice audio and server operation
Intercom audio is encrypted in transit between each client and its server using AES-256-GCM, with both Server App and Cloud. With a self-hosted Server App, that server is controlled by the customer. With Cloud, audio is processed by OD Link’s hosted room infrastructure. The server decrypts audio for routing and mixing and encrypts outgoing audio for recipients. This is not end-to-end encryption between participants.
The current product privacy design processes live voice for communication rather than storing audio recordings. Room configuration, account records, technical logs and backups are separate from voice recordings. This does not prevent a participant or customer-controlled system from recording received audio independently.
Account and technical information
Depending on the features used, operating the service involves:
- Licensing and payments: purchaser email, order identifiers, license status, account capacity, activation/device identifiers and transaction history.
- Cloud ownership: account email, authentication data, company/country information supplied during setup, room ownership and subscription information.
- Room administration: server and user names, credentials, groups, channel settings, permissions and connection state. Authorized administrators can manage participant credentials.
- Notifications: a device token or notification-channel address linked to an account when notifications are enabled, so alerts can reach the appropriate device. Apple, Google or Microsoft notification services may be involved depending on platform.
- Operations and support: connection/security events, IP addresses where processed by service infrastructure, diagnostic logs and information a user deliberately sends to support. Do not send passwords or license keys in an initial support request.
The client stores settings on the device. The iOS client privacy inventory reports no advertising, analytics or third-party crash-reporting SDK. This statement is specific to that inventory; it is not a blanket claim that hosted infrastructure produces no logs or that every client has identical data practices.
Service providers and locations
The current architecture uses Cloudflare for service infrastructure, Hetzner for hosted engines, Creem for payments, Resend for transactional email, and platform notification providers where applicable. Information is processed by relevant providers to perform those functions.
These providers may process information in countries other than your own. Selecting a room region determines room placement, not the location of every billing, notification, support or backup record. Payment information is handled by Creem under its own privacy notice; we do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
Retention, deletion and privacy requests
Account and room information is used to provide the service while your account is active. When Cloud account deletion completes successfully, the active database removes the owner account, room configuration, participant accounts, associated notification destinations, access tokens and subscription records belonging to that account. Room shutdown is carried out by the hosting system. Cancelling renewal alone does not delete the account.
Automated Cloud database backups are scheduled to expire 30 days after each backup is created. Deleting an account does not rewrite existing backups. Information already present in a backup can remain until that copy expires; this is not an additional 30-day period starting when you request deletion.
That automated-backup period does not apply to every record. Restricted operational copies used for recovery verification, technical or security logs, support correspondence and payment records are separate from the active account. Their retention depends on the purpose of the record, including recovery, investigation, resolving a support or billing issue, and applicable legal obligations. Account deletion does not automatically erase these records or copies held by payment providers. No single fixed deletion period applies to all of these categories. Contact us for a deletion request covering records outside the active account.
Live voice is processed for communication, not retained as an audio recording by the service. Data or recordings saved independently on customer-controlled devices and servers remain under that customer’s control.
For access, correction, deletion or other privacy requests, contact [email protected]. Participant requests may also require coordination with the room administrator. Identity and authority may need to be verified before account information is disclosed or changed.
